Covid-19 Updates

Covid-19 Update

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, half of the staff are currently working from home. However, those staff who need to be in the office for the effective discharge of their duties continue to work at our office building in Great Dunmow. There will consequently be no interruption to our telephone services or any other functions of the association.

For anyone looking to get in touch about grants we run, Louise Gambardella, Funding Officer can be reached on the association mobile: 07495 915912.

Office consultations and face-to-face training courses are not taking place. Instead, they are all being conducted virtually. They will continue to be held virtually until further notice.

67 16th October

Following yesterday’s Covid-19 Update, please find the attached tool kit and ECC breaking news logo. These items should help Town & Parish Councils notify their residents about what Tier Two of the new alert system entails.

66 15th October

Essex County Council have made the decision to deliver their Tier Two information leaflets by a third-party supplier. We therefore ask all Parish & Town Councils to stand down the volunteers which have been mobilised for delivery. Thank you to all those Councils who kindly offered their support with this endeavour.

65 13th October

Essex are to enter the Covid-19 alert system’s “High Risk” category from Saturday 17th October onwards. This proactive decision to make early entry into Tier Two from Essex County Council is designed to prevent further escalation into Tier Three, thus avoiding a full lockdown in Essex. ECC therefore request that Town & Parish Councils mobilise volunteer groups and Council Officers to help deliver explanatory leaflets to vulnerable residents in addition to publicising the new move though their media outlets.

HM Government announces that social gatherings of more than six people will be illegal in England from Monday 14th September onwards.

Council meetings must therefore continue virtually until further notice.

This is as a consequence of a steep rise in Coronavirus cases. There will be some exemptions to this new ruling. The law change bans larger groups from meeting anywhere indoors or out.

60 10th August 2020

Notice to Association Members that the staff have now returned to the EALC office building. The phone is therefore switched on, and we are happy to take calls to answer requests for information, legal enquires, publication orders, bookings and other assorted questions.

Face-to-face consultations and training courses/forums will not resume until further notice, as such meetings are not yet deemed safe by the government.
